What do I get a disrespectful, irresponsible, undisciplined teenager for a holiday gift? A ticket to boot camp

If you know an 11-20+ year old with a serious attitude problem, do you think they deserve a gift for the holidays? What about parents who enable their kids to continue in their unproductive behaviors? Can't you just say, "Happy Holidays, pack your bags, you are going to military school tomorrow." If kids have NOT "been good this year," why get them anything if they haven't earned it or don't deserve it. Remember the days of getting lumps of coal and switches if you are on the naughty list? Stop baby-ing these kids and let them take some responsibility for their actions... do you think you are doing society a favor by stuffing their stocking with video games and cash? Come on... make this a holiday they will really remember.

Additional Details

To be more specific, I am talking about individuals who are disrespectful to other people and who are not responsible for their actions. I'm not talking about a teenager who makes mistakes every once in a while, but rather individuals who make these behaviors a consistent part of their lifestyle.

Answer 1 :
Wow, I'm glad you're not my mom!
Usualy, a teenager misbehaving is having issues somewhere and the first thing you should do, instead of taking away his chrismas presents, is try to settle the issue and solve it. Communication is a key. If it doesnt work, there's always the old "not allowed to watch tv, go out, etc" thing. And then, psychological specialist. And THEN maybe boot camp.
Who are you to say who diserves a chrismas gift? Have you always been perfect? Come on! You're being too rough.
Yes taking responsability... but what does this have to do with chrismas which is, much more than about gifts, about family???
Taking chrismas away will make you the grinch, and make them resentful ... not very productive;)

Answer 2 :
Wow I'm going threw something just like that my son is 14 years old now his hasn't had a Christmas in 3years I paid for him to go to boot camp over the spring he worked on some of his issues but after camp was over he went back to his regular self so i took him to court to have him locked up he then change again long enough to go to court but now he is doing better his grades are coming back up his lack of respect is coming along so I have to keep on top of him because he now knows that I am so serious and I am his soul back bone this boys dad has never been in his life and making him understand that I am there for you not against you take the time to listen to your elders because we want the best for our young we don't want you to experience the sh*t we have gone threw.

My ex-girlfriend and I had a holiday booked. She changed the my ticket to her mothers name and won't refund me?

Can I legally challenge her and her mother? It was supposed to be a romantic holiday to Paris early next year bt she went to the travel agent and changed my ticket to her mothers name without informing me. She paid her half by credit card and I paid my half by cash.

I just want my £500 back, I will not pay for her mothers holiday.

Thanks for all your kind advice guys and ladies. And no, no one was unfaithful in the relationship.

She paid it all by her card as I gave her £500 in cash. The only proof I have are texts and emails from her.

Answer 1 :
Did you go to the travel agent together and did you pay the cash directly to the travel agent, if you did it would be easier to have the comeback and easier to prove.

Firstly I would speak to her, keep it non-confrontational to start with regarding your £500 if you get nowhere I would speak to her mother, again if you get nowhere, personally if it was me.. .... I'd do whatever I could to get the money.

Do you have any proof whether it be emails you and her, confirmation emails you and her or confirmation or paperwork from the travel agent that your name was on the ticket. When you have got that I would take a look at Her Majesty's Court Service online money claim. This is a very good service to help people lodge claims for money, upto £99,999.99. Take a look at the website and maybe get some legal advice to aid you.

Answer 2 :
I'd go firstly to the travel agent and tell them your ticket - that you paid for has been changed fraudulently - without your authority.

Inform them that you gave no authority for the name change and provide them with ANY proof of purchase that you have.

Unfortunately, it's common for tickets to be changed to another name for a small fee - I'd see what their legal stance is before confronting your ex.

If you have ANY thing in your name that proves that you paid the £500 for the holiday, I'd phone her up and threaten to take her to court to be reimbursed for your money.

Small claims usually only covers up to £300 so I'd go the full way to recoup my money if I were you.

Personally - I think she's rippin the pi$$

Answer 3 :
Oh dear. Charming of her! At the moment, the position is that she paid for the tickets on her credit card and thus can make any changes she wishes. The fact that you gave her £500 in cash FOR YOUR TICKET is the one you'll need to prove and without seeing the e-mails it's difficult to say whether they will serve as that proof. I suspect your only hope at the moment is to take all that to a solicitor and seek his advice.

then......change your ticket back. she obviously doesnt want to go to paris (which i think is crazy) but no you cant really go after her AND her mother. especially if she paid her own way if it doesnt cost anything to change it back then change your ticket back. OR not go anywhere at all and cancel the trip all together and see if you can get a full refund of YOUR money

Anyone know where I can buy discount Holiday World tickets?

Other than the Pepsi discount you get at the gate, or group discounts.

I don't wanna stay at a hotel, that would cost me more money. I'm not that far away from them.
Does the military thing apply to veterans or just current active duty military?

Answer 1 :
If you have a family member in the military, wait until Memorial Day and get in free.

That's so great, I didn't know they did that. I don't have any currently active people in my family though.

Answer 2 :
I just did a search by typing in "discount tickets for holiday world" and quite a few options came up - it looks like if you stay at certain hotels in the area - they give you discounts for the parks - check it out - I've listed one of the links below

My ex-friend has changed the name on my ticket so someone else can go.?

I had a fall out with my friend, she has changed the name on our holiday ticket and now I have lost the £120 I paid. How can I go about getting this back?

Answer 1 :
If you have the receipt, you can always bring that person to small claims. Or even better since you paid, go back to that ticket issuer with you proof of purchase and request an amendment.
Good luck

Answer 2 :
1.) Confront her about it
2.) Get the police involved because it seems like theft to me
3.) If all else fails higher some muscle to take care of her, if you dont know anyone.. I know a guy who knows a guy...

Have you tried asking her for the money back?

Do you think airplane ticket prices will go down after the holidays?

I'm planning to go to the Philippines next February, and right now the tickets there are really expensive. So, I was just wondering, do you think the prices will go down after the holiday season??

Answer 1 :
Most airline and travel websites are already showing good prices to the Philippines in February. Now and between a month or so out usually will have the best fares. Korean Air is showing a flight from LAX to Manila for $688, China Airlines for $732 and Philippine Airlines for $895, I don't think you can do much better than the Korean and China Airlines prices.
Although the Xmas season is one of the most expensive times to fly, prices in February aren't affected by the prices around Xmas. The Philippine Airline price might come down, but I doubt if the Korean and China Airline prices will get any lower. Also, be careful when you book in February, Chinese New Year is in February and prices normally go up on many Asian airlines that time of year.

Answer 2 :
Summer, the winter holidays, thanksgiving, and spring break are the times when airlines tend to make the most money. People want to travel to see their families or take a vacation at these times, and the airlines see that if people feel the need to travel at these times, the airlines can raise ticket prices. Early February, or even late January should be a decent time to book. A ticket to the Philippines will still be expensive because of the distance, but not as pricey as during the above travel primetimes.

It will definitely go down after the holidays because right now people want to go visit their family. So after Christmad and New Year it will go down.

When will I get my holiday tickets?

Booked a holiday back last year with thomas cook. Im leaving on the 28th september. Can anybody tell me roughly how long before I will receive them? Also what exactley does it say on the tickets? This is my 1st time abroad so I havent got a clue!! Im so excited, cant wait! Can anybody help???

Answer 1 :
Check out your booking form, it should tell you on there when they normally send out the tickets but I think its about 2weeks prior to depature. Your tickets tell you the flight number and the departure airport and the time of departure. Have a great holiday

Answer 2 :
Roughly two weeks before.
Found this on one companies site

When will I receive my flight tickets?
Usually for bookings made more than 14 days prior to departure (21 days in high season) we will receive tickets 5-10 days prior to your holiday, they are then forwarded to you that day. Unfortunately there are rare occasions where they do not arrive to us in time to be posted, this is outside the control of Sunmaster Holidays. If this does happen there is no need to worry, we will arrange for you to collect your tickets at the airport (please see the ‘How do I collect my Tickets on Departure?’ section below). Bookings made within 14 days (and 21 days in high season) of travel will be a ticket on departure (you will collect your tickets from the tour operators desk at the airport).

Answer 3 :
i traveleed by thomas cook 2 years in a row and your tickets will be sent to your house 2 weeks before you are expected to travel.

the tickets are attacted to a little booklet which has the names of all the pasangers in your group if they are an adult or child ,
also it has helth and safety and it tells you how much luggage you are allowed to bring there will also be a letter with your transfer info on

etc...

if you need any other info please ask me .

have a great holiday

Can I fly to Australia with a one way ticket on a tourist visa if my working holiday visa being processed?

Can I fly to Australia with a one way ticket on a tourist visa if my working holiday visa being processed?

Answer 1 :
I very much doubt it. Best to wait until your working visa is processed. Customs like to know if you have enough money to support yourself whilst in Australia, and at least enough money to get back home again, or a return ticket already booked and paid for.
If u do come....welcome...and hope u enjoy our beautiful diverse country.

Answer 2 :
You should check with your local Australian embassy, or with the department of immigration (http://www.immi.gov.au ).

As far as I understand, customs and immigration in ANY country will treat you with suspicion if you arrive on a one-way ticket. It shows that you have no real plan to ever leave the country again. That's fine if you are migrating to live permanently in Australia, but neither of the visas you are interested in is of that type.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Has anyone been on a working holiday visa to australia, if you have a single ticket, how much sufficient funds

do you need to have? is it still $5000 aud, or is it more with single ticket? please advise me.

you stupid dick yes you can go on single ticket you just need evidence of funds you can get a flight home

Answer 1 :
Yes, you still need the 5,000 AUD to get an Australian working holiday visa to support your trip and be able to purchase a return ticket. Aside from that, you also need to be at least 18 to apply for the visa and have no dependent children. You can check out the requirements here http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/working/…

For the application cost, this online service offers 190 AUD for the visa application charge : http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/working/…

Answer 2 :
no need to be so rude to the person that answered you,he/she makes a valid point. Customs CAN refuse you entry with a one way ticket, some airlines will not even let you board on a one way ticket if you are not a resident of the country you are flying to,and i know this for a fact because it happened to me so before you call people a stupid dick get your facts right!!

and if the visa application says you need 5000 then that's what you need, you must follow the rules of Australia or don't bother applying, with an attitude like yours you wont be welcomed by Australians

Answer 3 :
You wont be able to enter Australia with a single ticket. They'll send you back where you came from before you even leave the airport.

Australia has one of the toughest immigration/customs departments in the world - equal or worse than the US, if you get the wrong person in a crabby mood.

It is highly unlikely that they would let you in with a one way ticket.Thye would suspect that you want to stay here.

Where can we find the best price for Holiday World and Splashin' Safari tickets?

We are planning on going to Holiday World park in Santa Claus, IN next week? We would love to save some money. Where could we find discounted tickets. We are in central IL. We are over 4 hours away, so we were planning on staying Tuesday night. We have not been to the park before. We have a 5 year old, 9 year old, and 10 year old. Would it be worth getting a two day ticket or is the park more a one day trip. If one day, what else would be good to see in that area for our first day? Thanks in advance for all the answers!!!!!

Answer 1 :
Not exactly sure where to get discounted tickets as we got ours for free through a company we're affiliated with, but I can tell you it's more of a one day trip. The theme park itself isn't much, there aren't a great number of rides and you can easily ride everything twice in a matter of hours. The waterpark on the other hand KICKS ***! We had planned to spend most of the day in the theme park when we went, but as I said, it didn't take long to ride everything once or twice so we got bored fast and decided to head over to the waterpark and needless to say, we never came back out to the theme park. The waterpark is the best I've ever been to and if I ever go back to Holiday World, I'll probably just spend the whole day there. Only drawback is that everyone has the same idea as me so lines in the waterpark for the big rides are pretty long. We waited about 45 minutes each to ride 2 of the big slides, but they have a TON of other great things in the waterpark with little or no wait at all.

Answer 2 :
we live about 20 minutes away from there, yes you could spend a lot of time there. I want to go every day it is so much fun!

Could anyone help me pls where to get cheapest ticket. i will be going on holiday for 6 weeks in manila phils.?

flight will be on 24th of march until 4th of may 2009.
i would appreciate anyone who could help me. thanks
thanks to all of you for giving your time and effort.. i've forgotten to say that i will be flying from london.. but anyway, i booked already my flight and i found it thru www.cheaptickets.com - connected from kayak.co.uk.

Answer 1 :
Not all plane tickets are the same price! Where are you flying from? From Jakarta a flight will be cheaper than a from the US or Britain!

You can go to your nearest travel agent and check what the prices will be from your country - where ever that is!

After you know what airlines fly from your nearest airports then you can also check those airline websites. Don't fall in love with a particular date - check the price of a plane ride a couple days ahead of time and a few days after to see if the price changes. Different days sometimes means different prices!

Need more info from you. You may have to see what you need for a visa if you are not flying to Manila from within the PI area. From the US you get a free 21 days on arrival at the airport. The country you come from, or the passport you travel under may determine how many days you get.

Answer 2 :
It depends where you are coming from. If you're just taking a domestic flight, Cebu Pacific would be relatively cheaper than Philippine Airlines or Air Philippines. PAL also has promo offers, prices of which can be comparable to that of Cebu Pacific. To avail cheap tickets you must book your flight months before your trip.

If you are taking an international flight, there are several airlines that could give you relatively cheap rates. If you're coming from the US, you can check out Asiana Airlines. There are cheap flights from Malaysia through Air Asia. I find Singapore Airlines' flights cheaper to and from Australia. You might also wanna check Tiger Airways.

Basically, it depends on your departure location. I would personally recommend the Philippines' official carrier, Philippine Airlines. It's not the cheapest out there but you definitely get your money's worth. You could also check with Cebu Pacific since they have international flights as well.

Is it to early to contact travel city direct about holiday tickets?

going to florida on 30th november with this company and wanted to know when we should be getting our holiday tickets we are flying from the uk

Answer 1 :
You are meant to get them when you have paid in full for them . If you have paid in full, then you should have them. Otherwise don't be afraid to contact them. Have a nice time.

Answer 2 :
If it's less than 14 days before you travel, then you can start worrying and contact them. This was the standard for the travel agency that I used to work for.

UK Working Holiday Visa - Return Ticket?

Do i need a RETURN airline ticket to apply/be granted a Working Holiday Visa for the UK, or is a one way ticket acceptable and then purchase the return ticket once i am there and ready to return?

Answer 1 :
No, you do not need a return ticket to be granted a WHV for the U.K.

The requirements are below.

Answer 2 :
Get a round trip ticket , plan out a schedule that would fit your working holiday visa. Better sure than sorry because anything can happen.

Answer 3 :
You don't technically need one, but if you don't have one then you will be asked to provide very clear proof that you have the ability to finance a ticket to leave, and in general customs will be far more suspicious about granting you entry.

If you have to pay a ticket by a certain date and it's a holiday?

Do you get an extra day to pay it or am I screwed.

Yep, it's due Monday, a holiday, when the town hall is of course, going to be closed. Fml.

Answer 1 :
Pay it early, you may get the extra day because of the holiday, but you are not saving any money by waiting until the last minute, and if you miss the pay date you are going to owe more money.

Answer 2 :
Just pay it before the due date.

Or call the agency that issued the ticket and ask them.

I bet it's due Monday though, isn't it.

Holiday plane ticket cost?

I'm looking to fly into New Jersey, New York, or maybe even Pennsylvania around Christmas time. Either before or after the holiday, not sure, but how much do the tickets cost on Average around that time of year??

Answer 1 :
It depends on where you are flying from. It will be quite expensive especially since the airlines are cutting capacity. If you do not book your ticket now, there may not be a seat available when you want to travel. Typically Christmas Day is a lighter travel day. You may be able to save a little money if you fly that day.

Answer 2 :
Dude why don't you search for yourself! You haven't given us where you're departing from and you're definitely not sure WHERE it is you want to fly to, as there are over 20 different airports in those three states alone. Dates would be helpful, and you certainly haven't said anything specific in terms of those, so no, I have NO CLUE how much it will cost.

Give something like expedia.com a shot.

I am planning a holiday to the U.S. When I am purchasing tickets can I purchase more than 1 ticket as a gift?

Can I buy a ticket as a gift for someone or do I need to provide personal information for both people when I purchase the tickets?

Answer 1 :
As it's a US ticket they require lots of details before booking.
So you need to find out these details before booking.

Answer 2 :
You have to enter the information for all passengers at time of purchase. You can find out the information of the other passenger and still surprise them with a copy of the e-ticket. It shouldnt be a problem.

Court on a federal holiday? Am I off the hook for this ticket?

Officer wrote my court date as MLK day, of course the court was closed. Expired registration. Am I off the hook for this?

Answer 1 :
I seriously doubt that you will be off the hook just because of this but you might have just gotten off on a legal technicality. But you might be. I suggest you try to go another date and appear before the Judge and say that you showed up on MLK day and the court was closed and ask for your ticket to be excused because the officer didn't show up. Good Luck. I think your odds are 50-50. Be very polite to the Judge. This is not legal advice and I am not a lawyer.

Answer 2 :
Federal courts were closed, not state/municipal court.

You're still on the hook AND you may get a failure to appear now.

Need answer asap!!!! Changing name on holiday ticket?

Hey guys, A friend couldn't go on holiday for family reasons and now another friend wants to go in her place. It is 16 days to the holiday and it is a package holiday with sunworld. Can this be done at this stage? And will it cost much money?

Answer 1 :
If you move FAST you may be able to get it done. When my husband couldn't make a planned trip to Jamaica at the last minute (I knew about a week ahead of time, actually), I looked into giving his ticket/reservation to a friend and it wasn't possible. Since 9-11, the airlines don't let you transfer tickets so your friend would have to purchase a ticket now and hope the prices aren't too bad. As far as the resort goes, I'd contact them directly and ask how they can help you. Hopefully, they'll want to keep you happy. I hope your friend had trip insurance. We finally got my husband's fare back but it took awhile...If your friend doesn't have trip insurance, the airline will probably give you some sort of voucher that she/he can use sometime in the next year. Good luck!

Answer 2 :
no you cant! you would have to buy a whole new plane ticket! as these details cant be changed once booked! sorry!

Answer 3 :
It will cost money, i think around £30 - £50 is common for a name change but each holiday company varies.

Speeding ticket charges on a holiday weekend?

i live in ohio and someone told me that on holiday weekends if you get a traffic ticket that the fines are doubled
did anyone ever hear this? and is it true???

Answer 1 :
I don't believe this. Fines double when you speed in road construction zones, and if you hit a road construction worker you will be jailed

Should I work at these ski resorts where they raised ticket prices on people during the holiday?

I think it is wrong. The only reason why I want to work for them is because you can ski for free if you do. I have an ethical dilemma, I guess. What do you think?

Answer 1 :
Holidays are very busy times for ski resorts. If they don't raise prices they become too crowded, which is no fun for anyone skiing.

Think of it another way. The real price is what they charge on holidays and they lower their price for people who want to ski on ordinary days.

Why does a restaurant charge more for dinner than for lunch?

Is it legal or illegal to buy an oline UK lottery ticket if I am on holiday in China?

I am currently living in China (I am a resident of the UK) and am currently buying UK lottery tickets online from China. Now the UK lottery website says I may not be able to claim any prize if I am playing in a country where it is unlawful to do so. Anyone have any ideas?

By the way, I haven't won anything BIG yet, but when I win small, then they still pay that into my account. So if precedent is anything to go by, then I guess that would be my argument.

Answer 1 :
There may be a precedent of them paying small prizes to you before, but there are no legal precedents. This is because wagers are binding in honour only.

Answer 2 :
im not sure but i think you have 6 months to declare that you are the winner. so you always can come back to do that. you dont need to say you are out of the contry in the moment

What happens to a ticket when the court date is set on a holiday? Does it get dismissed?

This ticket is on Guam. My court date was Dec. 7. I was ready to face the court. I went there only to realize nobody else was there except other people who were issued tickets. Doors were closed. BTW, my ticket don't have the officer's nor my signature on it.

Answer 1 :
Check back when the court is open, because it will likely be reset to a date when the court is open, and if you don't show up you could have a warrant for your arrest.

I know a woman who's court date was a Saturday, and when she went to court it was closed, and 5 years later she tried to get a job and learned there was a warrant.

Answer 2 :
You should hire a attorney & he possibly could have that dismissed for you.A good judge usually will if it's not a criminal offense.Make sure you don't just brush this off.You are still accountibal for your actions.Check to set up a date you can make to court&state your plea.

Can anyone send me an example of an e-ticket for a package holiday?

An old one or a template of one.

It isn't so I can forge one - I know you need a ticket number and all that. I need my boyfriend to book time off work, I'm going to pretend I've booked a holiday to somewhere crap and then surprise him with something better.

Answer 1 :
an e-ticket is not a ticket it is a code and it makes no different what way you should it if it does not match the details to whom your checking in with your not going any where

Atheists: If you had access to a 1st class ticket to an eternal holiday all expenses paid, would you use it?

Or would you just cast it aside and waste time with other tickets that lead to nowhere and "nothingness"?

Answer 1 :
I would have to know where it was and I would like to see brochures and videos of the destination. Can you show me any real pictures of Heaven or real documentary footage? Can you upload the pics of the hotel I'd be staying at to twitter? Would you accept an invite to an unknown destination without ever having seen it or one that noone has ever seen? I didn''t think so.

Answer 2 :
There are many descriptions of heaven that are available in ALL major religions. But you did find a hole in the analogy and I'm fair when judging. Still the fact that chances are there IS an afterlife and so we should make arrangements for it is not Pascal's Wager but common sense!

Answer 3 :
Atheism is a no-hope philosophy that promises oblivion of the intellect and senses. In other words, everything atheists do, think, learn or say (including ranting on R&S) is ultimately futile,

Those who are attracted to such a nihilistic prospect of nothingness, obviously would not want an eternity of consciousness.

Answer 4 :
Depends -- is there any evidence the place the ticket is supposed to take me is real? If not, it would be silly to get a ticket, wouldn't it?

Just because you want there to be an afterlife doesn't mean there is one. With no evidence of any kind to show there is one, believing in one is quite silly.

I'd take it if it was a first class ticket to the Bahamas, because I could hold the ticket in my hand and I know that the Bahamas exist. But I'm not going to join a cult, shave my head, and live according to their bizarre code of conduct just because they promise that I'll go to the big rock candy mountain when I die.

I would, but I wouldn't take it if a book said "you will get this ticket if you live your entire life the way I tell you to. You may be disqualified for these reasons
1)Ticket may or may not exist
2)If you do anything against our crazy laws that contradict constantly.
3) If you don't believe you will get the ticket

How bad does the holiday season affect the price of a plain ticket?

I got a price for a flight about a month ago and it was a really great price. I checked it a couple weeks later and it seems to have jumped up by almost $90! I don't plan to fly during the holidays, but would the holiday season, being that it's right around the corner, have a dramatic effect on the price? Do the prices tend to go down after the holidays or remain the same? I've never flown before so any info would be helpful!!

Answer 1 :
It's not necessarily that the airlines are jacking the price, but that the tickets sell out faster. The less seats available on a flight, the more expensive the tickets are. That is why the prices were so much cheaper a month ago, there more more available. If you are talking about a flight furthur away, I wouldn't think that seasonal prices would afferct that, it could also be that more tickets were sold in that time. A lot of airlines also have fare specials that you must buy at least 3 weeks in advance. Or the first time you looked there was a special going on, then that deal was over the next time you looked.

I think figuring out how airline pricing works is worse than taxes. General rules are buy as soon as possible and fly in the off season. Also flying certain days of the week is usually cheaper (tue, wed, thurs) And the more flexible you are the better price you can find.

Answer 2 :
Yes it does. In Germany, everyone wants to get on a plane in August because that's when school lets out (we have a whole lot of other holidays throughout the year). If we could fly out in the middle of July, it would be a savings of over $500 per ticket to go over the Atlantic Ocean. But the 6 weeks starting in August? Forget about it unless you buy a ticket before the first week in December.

Answer 3 :
We must return to Economics 101, supply vs. demand. The higher the demand vs. supply the higher the price. Airlines want to make money so you'll find very few offering many seats at discounted levels when the demand for the flights are heavy.

Answer 4 :
Drive if you can. Tickets are elevated due to more people and the last minute planners. if you planned your ticket in advance it might be cheaper. you could also take a BUS.

Prices tend to sky rocket during the peak holiday seasons... Before you fly, go to www.tsa.gov for rules and regulations so you know what is permitted in carry on and checked baggage, and all kinds of helpful info.

When is the best time to buy a plane ticket for holiday travel in December?

When is the best time to buy a plane ticket for holiday travel in December?

Answer 1 :
The best time to buy plane tickets for holiday travel in December probably passed several months ago. Since that time is the busiest travel period of the year, seats (and low prices) tend to disappear quickly, with the cheapest seats filling up months in advance.

If you're planning travel for this year and haven't bought tickets yes, buy them as soon as you can. Given the heavy demand, airlines have little incentive to lower the price -- in fact, they're likely to only increase as cheaper seats fill up.

Answer 2 :
It really depends where u are flying to international or domestic. Once u can deteemine that factor u will know which route to take buy now or buy aq couple days before. But when u buy an international ticket to somewhere always have a visa then when u buy around these high times like holidays U can get to stay longer in the foreign country to beat the ticket costs. Domestic U should buy when the sale is going on and during the night when the airlines prices change u might get a better deal that way. also look at these websites on the web for ailine travel like farecompare the airline carriers travel agents and etc... When I buy my interantional ticket I usually price everything out on Bt travel Store and skyauction then the airlines that goes to these places and then lastly the travel agents in the country where I am flying to. I got some good deals of ticket prices in December tha last week of November last year international. Domestic is pretty good also right before christmas. They lower the prices when u are flying on the holidays like for thmaksgiving and for christmas and New years. My neice flew up last year before christmas. She got an awesome deal on plane ticket for domestic. Search the individual airlines also to and from your destination. They will have great deals also.

Answer 3 :
I'd start looking for good prices right now. If you try to look later or maybe closer to December you won't be able to find good prices on tickets. I've always found cheap prices around this time. Just remember the farther you book your ticket in advance the more chances you'll get good prices on airfare tickets.

Answer 4 :
Now! The prices are only going to go up as the time gets closer, and seats are getting filled. When they start running low on seats, they can charge an arm and a leg for what seats are left. There is always someone willing to pay the high price for those last few seats. I agree with the other person. Try looking tonight between 12am and 2am where the airline has its headquarters (ex: 12am-2am central time for United, 12am-2am eastern time for delta, 12am-2am pacific time for Virgin America...etc etc etc.) They had a big story about this on the Today show a couple months ago!!!

I received a speeding ticket over the holiday weekend. The officer told me I did not need to go to court but..

I have yet to pay the ticket. Will they issue a warrant on me if I did not pay the ticket yet?

I have yet to pay the ticket. Is there an actual deadline for paying speeding tickets? Is it different from parking tickets? I've tried helplessly to call the Clerk of Courts for over 3 days and the line is either busy or hangs up on me. I live in Cleveland, help!

Answer 1 :
they will suspend your licence , then when you get pulled over again you will be arrested so you should probaly pay it before it is to late because after they suspend it you have to pay reinstatement fees extra court cost . JUST NOT WORTH IT

Answer 2 :
If this is issued in the UK, the fine will be sent to the magistrates' court for enforcement if not paid. Continued failure to pay and turn up to court can result in a warrant being issued for your arrest.

Answer 3 :
Just call the number on the ticket and see how much of a grace period you have to pay. It's usually like 10 days. If you can't pay it, talk to someone to see what can be worked out.

It depends...some unpaid traffic tickets result in a warrant and license cancellation, while others result only in the license cancellation. It typically depends on whether the traffic ticket was for an infraction or offense. Obviuosly this will differ depending upon state and jurisdiction.

Best month to buy flight ticket to malaysia for summer holiday?

When is the best time to buy a flight ticket to malaysia for the summer holiday in june? Some people told me that normally, the best time to purchase the ticket is in March. Is this somewhat true? Or is it better for me to buy the tix ASAP? I'm thinking of flying from newcastle airport (UK) - if that is relevant. Also, what is the best website to buy the flight ticket to malaysia? or is it better for me to go to the airport directly. Thanks in advance

Answer 1 :
Airlines changes fares dynamically based on supply and demand. If a flight is selling out, they may decrease the number of discount seats and/or raise fares. If there are too many seats unsold, they may increase the number of discount seats and/or reduce prices. You can never tell.

One general rule does apply. Discount fares have advance purchase requirements (usually 14 or 21 days), so there is an advantage to buying before then.

What happens if the court date that is assigned for your speeding ticket is on a holiday?

Do you still have to pay the ticket or does it get thrown out automatically?

Answer 1 :
Pay it before the court date or Johnny Law will find new ways to get more money from you, like Failure-To-Appear/etc., which will make you legally liable for even more money.

The only thing they care about is money ... pay Johnny Law off early and often and this will minimize your headaches and total cost.

-There are no other options.-

Answer 2 :
It does NOT get thrown out. The court date MAY be rescheduled. You need to contact the court BEFORE the date listed. It may not be a holiday for the court. I read somewhere that only 3 days a year are not considered a holiday by SOMEONE. Any given court will recognize about a dozen.

Answer 3 :
No, you still have to pay it. If you want to have your ticket removed from your record most states will allow you to take a traffic school.

If a cop gives you a traffic citation and the court date on the ticket is a holiday, will it get dismissed?

I received a ticket from a police office in Ohio. The court summons date was mistakenly noted as 2/20/2006 on the ticket. 2/20 is Presidents day and the court is closed. Will the ticket automatically be dismissed?

Answer 1 :
No. It will not be dismissed. You go to court on Tuesday morning and get it sorted out. If you don't, the court could suspend your driver's license for failure to appear. When you are in court, you can ask the judge to dismiss the ticket.

Answer 2 :
You have got to be kidding. Dismissed because the officer mistakenly wrote down a date that is a holiday. The clerk at the court will likely notify you of the correct date. But you should go ahead and call the court to find out when your resceduled date is.

Answer 3 :
What will probably happen is that the court clerk will notice the error and your case will be given a continuance to the next available session.

Sorry, you're not going to be able to get off on this (a technicality, at best)

No it won't be dismissed. If you're lucky, they will just postpone the court date to the next day. Call the court to check. If you miss the court date, no matter if the date printed on the ticket is worng or not, you may lose your license.

A friend booked us a holiday, could they change the name on the airline ticket without my permission?

As they booked the holiday I'm worried they could change the name on the airline ticket without my permission. Is there anyway I can stop them doing this?

Answer 1 :
nope. can't even do it with your permission. Once an airline ticket is issued it has to be cancelled otherwise that seat is yours until 5 minutes before the plane leaves and they give it up to Standby passengers. There is absolutely 100% no way possible for ANYONE to change the name attached to an airline ticket.

A parking ticket from last years holiday?

Last year at the end of october we had a weeks holiday in Sardinia and we hired a car. In this mornings post we received a signed for letter saying it was for a parking infringement in a town called Oristano. I do remember the ticket being under the windscreen wiper blade when we returned and the details do appear to be correct for the hire car we had. Anyone had a similar experience? Do I pay it ? If I don't what can happen?

Answer 1 :
Judgeing by the amount of foreigners here who cry "I don't understand when they bump your car and drive of "
I say good on yer, why not send them a sympathy card and get it franked by our tourist board.lol

Answer 2 :
Last year an EU accord was agreed between member states allowing them to pursue motoring fines and offences in the home country of any EU citizen. If you do not pay it is possible for a summons to be issued by an British court and you could be made to pay a much higher fine plus all associated expenses. Those expenses could be very high, better to pay up and smile than worry unnecessarily!

Buying train tickets for Austrian holiday?

We am planning a one week holiday to Austria between 17-24 December this year. Note I have already received some excellent responses to an earlier question regarding what to do - just need to sort the transport out now!

All I need to know now is how do you book train tickets within the Austrian network? We are going to be based in both Salzburg & Vienna, but will need to buy a return to Vienna from Salzburg.

Is it necessary (and cheaper) to buy them in the UK before we go? Or just wait until we arrive in Salzburg?

My only concern is not being able to secure tickets once we are there (not sure what the demand is like), or it may be more economical to purchase beforehand. Thanks

Answer 1 :
Buy a Tourist ticket online before you go. It gives unlimited travel between specified dates, far better value than buying individual tickets if you plan lots of journeys...;

Answer 2 :
Book in this country. That way you won't have the hassle of doing it in a strange place AND you might find it cheaper to do it here - tourist rates maybe!

Season ticket holders does your favorite track send you a Holiday greeting?

I received mine today from MIS http://www.mispeedway.com/Vanity-Pages/H… and if your track does I would love to see it. Thanks!

Answer 1 :
I held season tickets to both Cup races, and both Nationwide/ Busch races at Daytona for many years, and the only thing they ever sent me was a bill.. Awesome card.. It's nice to do business with people who appreciate your business..

Answer 2 :
Well, mine is a Nationwide only track, I haven't gotten a card in the three years since its been on the schedule. But I don't buy for the Grand-Am and never did buy for the F1 races, so maybe they send holiday cards to people who buy tickets for everything.

Answer 3 :
no, richmond just sent me a letter with some kind of "christmas promotion" though, offering specials for the may race weekend i guess, i didn't really read it.

Can i enter Australia with a one way ticket on a working holiday visa?

Hi i am leaving to Australia on the 23 of this month and i have my working holiday visa but only have a one way ticket. Will i be able to enter the country with a one way ticket, because i have no clue how long i will be in Australia for so thats the reason why i did not book a return. I dont think there will be a problem but just wanted to double check.
Thanks

Answer 1 :
Our immigration people know how difficult it is to get an open return and how expensive it is to change bookings so you definitely don't need a return ticket when you come on a working holiday visa. You will however be expected to have access to enough funds to pay for one in addition to the approx. AUD$5000 that is required to ensure that you have enough to tide you over your initial stay and any periods of unemployment.

Answer 2 :
I would be very careful about this one and provide plenty of evidence that you have no intention of outstaying your visa. The Australian Department of Immigration states that to be eligible for the Visa:

You must have access to sufficient funds to support yourself for the initial stage of your holiday. Generally, AUD$5000 may be regarded as sufficient, but the amount may vary depending on your length of stay and the extent of your travel. You should also have a return or onward ticket or the funds for a fare to depart Australia.

You may be asked to provide evidence. Evidence may include a certified copy of a bank statement and an air ticket out of Australia.

see http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-…

As the other answerers have suggested it is possible to get through without the onward ticket but you are taking a big risk that they won't let you through.

Answer 3 :
I did it with no problems. Might be worth printing off your e-mail or whatever else you have as proof. If it was an electronic visa then it's a good idea to get a paper version after you land. It's available for free from immigration offices and some employers will need to see it.

Can my ex change a name on holiday ticket without my knowledge?

I split with my girlfriend at the beginining of january 2008 we had a family holiday booked for may this year obviously im not going now and she has decided to ask her friend instead, i had no knowledge of this until last week and although i have asked for some money to be returned to me towards my costs i have received nothing, is it possible for her to change my name on my ticket without my say so?

Answer 1 :
If she had booked the tickets in the beginning then probably she can, if you were the one who booked them then she cannot. If she doesn't pay you back file a lawsuit or something if it was a lot of money.

Answer 2 :
it depends on who booked the holiday, if she booked it under here name on your behalf, then she has the right to change the name of the ticket.

there is always a group leader on these package holidays and thats who has the right to change the details of the other individuals.

with the money situation, you can ask her obv for the money and if she doesnt pay tell her your taking her to a small claims court which will cost both parties. your choice, hope that helps

Answer 3 :
I work for a major airline and if this is an airline ticket, names cannot be changed on airline tickets. The ticket is good for one year from the date of purchase and the only person who can use it is the person originally named on the ticket.
