How bad does the holiday season affect the price of a plain ticket?

I got a price for a flight about a month ago and it was a really great price. I checked it a couple weeks later and it seems to have jumped up by almost $90! I don't plan to fly during the holidays, but would the holiday season, being that it's right around the corner, have a dramatic effect on the price? Do the prices tend to go down after the holidays or remain the same? I've never flown before so any info would be helpful!!

Answer 1 :
It's not necessarily that the airlines are jacking the price, but that the tickets sell out faster. The less seats available on a flight, the more expensive the tickets are. That is why the prices were so much cheaper a month ago, there more more available. If you are talking about a flight furthur away, I wouldn't think that seasonal prices would afferct that, it could also be that more tickets were sold in that time. A lot of airlines also have fare specials that you must buy at least 3 weeks in advance. Or the first time you looked there was a special going on, then that deal was over the next time you looked.

I think figuring out how airline pricing works is worse than taxes. General rules are buy as soon as possible and fly in the off season. Also flying certain days of the week is usually cheaper (tue, wed, thurs) And the more flexible you are the better price you can find.

Answer 2 :
Yes it does. In Germany, everyone wants to get on a plane in August because that's when school lets out (we have a whole lot of other holidays throughout the year). If we could fly out in the middle of July, it would be a savings of over $500 per ticket to go over the Atlantic Ocean. But the 6 weeks starting in August? Forget about it unless you buy a ticket before the first week in December.

Answer 3 :
We must return to Economics 101, supply vs. demand. The higher the demand vs. supply the higher the price. Airlines want to make money so you'll find very few offering many seats at discounted levels when the demand for the flights are heavy.

Answer 4 :
Drive if you can. Tickets are elevated due to more people and the last minute planners. if you planned your ticket in advance it might be cheaper. you could also take a BUS.

Prices tend to sky rocket during the peak holiday seasons... Before you fly, go to www.tsa.gov for rules and regulations so you know what is permitted in carry on and checked baggage, and all kinds of helpful info.

When is the best time to buy a plane ticket for holiday travel in December?

When is the best time to buy a plane ticket for holiday travel in December?

Answer 1 :
The best time to buy plane tickets for holiday travel in December probably passed several months ago. Since that time is the busiest travel period of the year, seats (and low prices) tend to disappear quickly, with the cheapest seats filling up months in advance.

If you're planning travel for this year and haven't bought tickets yes, buy them as soon as you can. Given the heavy demand, airlines have little incentive to lower the price -- in fact, they're likely to only increase as cheaper seats fill up.

Answer 2 :
It really depends where u are flying to international or domestic. Once u can deteemine that factor u will know which route to take buy now or buy aq couple days before. But when u buy an international ticket to somewhere always have a visa then when u buy around these high times like holidays U can get to stay longer in the foreign country to beat the ticket costs. Domestic U should buy when the sale is going on and during the night when the airlines prices change u might get a better deal that way. also look at these websites on the web for ailine travel like farecompare the airline carriers travel agents and etc... When I buy my interantional ticket I usually price everything out on Bt travel Store and skyauction then the airlines that goes to these places and then lastly the travel agents in the country where I am flying to. I got some good deals of ticket prices in December tha last week of November last year international. Domestic is pretty good also right before christmas. They lower the prices when u are flying on the holidays like for thmaksgiving and for christmas and New years. My neice flew up last year before christmas. She got an awesome deal on plane ticket for domestic. Search the individual airlines also to and from your destination. They will have great deals also.

Answer 3 :
I'd start looking for good prices right now. If you try to look later or maybe closer to December you won't be able to find good prices on tickets. I've always found cheap prices around this time. Just remember the farther you book your ticket in advance the more chances you'll get good prices on airfare tickets.

Answer 4 :
Now! The prices are only going to go up as the time gets closer, and seats are getting filled. When they start running low on seats, they can charge an arm and a leg for what seats are left. There is always someone willing to pay the high price for those last few seats. I agree with the other person. Try looking tonight between 12am and 2am where the airline has its headquarters (ex: 12am-2am central time for United, 12am-2am eastern time for delta, 12am-2am pacific time for Virgin America...etc etc etc.) They had a big story about this on the Today show a couple months ago!!!

I received a speeding ticket over the holiday weekend. The officer told me I did not need to go to court but..

I have yet to pay the ticket. Will they issue a warrant on me if I did not pay the ticket yet?

I have yet to pay the ticket. Is there an actual deadline for paying speeding tickets? Is it different from parking tickets? I've tried helplessly to call the Clerk of Courts for over 3 days and the line is either busy or hangs up on me. I live in Cleveland, help!

Answer 1 :
they will suspend your licence , then when you get pulled over again you will be arrested so you should probaly pay it before it is to late because after they suspend it you have to pay reinstatement fees extra court cost . JUST NOT WORTH IT

Answer 2 :
If this is issued in the UK, the fine will be sent to the magistrates' court for enforcement if not paid. Continued failure to pay and turn up to court can result in a warrant being issued for your arrest.

Answer 3 :
Just call the number on the ticket and see how much of a grace period you have to pay. It's usually like 10 days. If you can't pay it, talk to someone to see what can be worked out.

It depends...some unpaid traffic tickets result in a warrant and license cancellation, while others result only in the license cancellation. It typically depends on whether the traffic ticket was for an infraction or offense. Obviuosly this will differ depending upon state and jurisdiction.

Best month to buy flight ticket to malaysia for summer holiday?

When is the best time to buy a flight ticket to malaysia for the summer holiday in june? Some people told me that normally, the best time to purchase the ticket is in March. Is this somewhat true? Or is it better for me to buy the tix ASAP? I'm thinking of flying from newcastle airport (UK) - if that is relevant. Also, what is the best website to buy the flight ticket to malaysia? or is it better for me to go to the airport directly. Thanks in advance

Answer 1 :
Airlines changes fares dynamically based on supply and demand. If a flight is selling out, they may decrease the number of discount seats and/or raise fares. If there are too many seats unsold, they may increase the number of discount seats and/or reduce prices. You can never tell.

One general rule does apply. Discount fares have advance purchase requirements (usually 14 or 21 days), so there is an advantage to buying before then.
